Horse & Hound Photography is owned and run by Alyssa Harrington and Jim Cairns, whom are both internationally published photographers. They currently reside in Phillipsburg, NJ with their two cats, two dogs and horse. Jim has a background in graphic design and has been photographing professionally for over a decade. Alyssa had initially apprenticed for Jim for about 3 years before forming Horse & Hound Photography, and learned a lot from him while developing a cohesive photographic style. They both take their art very seriously and believe in keeping up to date on the latest photography education. Jim and Alyssa have both invested countless hours of time learning from the best photographers from all over the country, attending seminars and conventions to ensure they provide quality images and an incredible product line-up everyone can be proud of.

Jim and Alyssa are both lifelong pet owners. Alyssa has been involved in the horse world for over 20 years now and has competed in numerous disciplines over the years - she focuses mostly on dressage with her Friesian Sport Horse now.  Both Jim and Alyssa have dedicated a lot of time photographing at animal shelters and learned some awesome tricks to bring out the best in your furry friend. You and your pet will be in very good hands working with Horse & Hound Photography.

It all started when…

We hatched the idea to help our local animal shelters with photography. We both always loved animals and grew up with pets- so putting our love for the arts and photography with animals seemed like the best step we could make. We began making our rounds to different shelters in the Lehigh Valley and greater Philadelphia region to take portraits of dogs, cats and horses. After helping over 50+ furry friends find furever homes, we continued to foster our love for pet photography and realized we made an incredible team and wanted to offer our photographic services for pet parents to enjoy!
